PA NORTHUMBERLAND — As street sweeper returns, Borough Council approves Comcast franchise and infrastructure pacts. The Council unanimously approved a Comcast Franchise Agreement and two PennDOT agreements, including a construction easement and custom roadway lighting pact (Agreement No. 56822), during its July 7 meeting. Public Works Director Jeremy Deitrick reported that the borough's street sweeper, financed through a loan and grant, has begun operations clearing streets of eight months of accumulated debris.
The 2026 paving season, delayed pending the outcome of liquid fuel funding, will commence after Labor Day, covering Sheets Avenue, Seventh Street, and Orange Street.
