PA NORTHUMBERLAND — Council unanimously advances court order for condemned Orange Street property. In its June 2 meeting, Northumberland Council voted to move forward with a court order for 396 Orange Street, where occupants remain despite the property's condemnation by the Northumberland Environmental Improvement Committee due to health and safety violations. Solicitor Melissa Kelso explained the enforcement action would prohibit occupancy until violations are remedied and authorize the borough to secure the property.
Council also approved solar energy ordinances, a police pension contribution adjustment, and authorized hiring for public works positions following staff resignations.
